Supporting ANU researchers

The North American Liaison Office for ANU is a useful point of contact for research funding and partnership questions connected to North America.

Research support database

The office is working closely with the Research Services Division and Endowment for Excellence on several flagship projects to better support ANU researchers. These include development of a targeted North America research opportunities database, dissemination of information about opportunities, and development of workshops to support successful approaches for research funding.

Institutional partnerships

ANU has comprehensive partnerships with several partner institutions in North America. One example is Indiana University. NALO engages in regular contact with Indiana on potential collaborations. ANU community members will have the opportunity to identify and foster growth of that relationship across multiple disciplines.

Outreach, promotion and networks

NALO has planned and hosted a series of ANU-led seminars in the US. The office’s base in Washington DC provides an excellent opportunity showcase ANU to policymakers, key decision makers and the media.

NALO has helped to highlight ANU research capabilities and Australian innovation. ANU has already worked on key issues to further the US-Australia relationship including Asia-Pacific relations, drought, water and emerging energy research.

NALO has worked closely with Austrade, AEI, Innovation, DSTO, and other agencies with whom ANU has relevant interests. Collaborating with these agencies has helped expand the reach of ANU through additional contacts in North America.

Opportunities also exist to host ANU seminars at key locations on across North America with relevant audiences.
