The American Australian Association (AAA)-Australian National University (ANU) Congressional Research Fellowship Program (CRFP) is a bilateral exchange initiative that places high-achieving honours and postgraduate students from ANU in the offices of ranking specialists in foreign affairs and armed services in the United States Senate for a period of up to 3 months from January to March.

The program fosters the development of a new generation of leaders, who understand the importance of the Australia – US bilateral relationship to regional security and economic development. It offers students the opportunity to shape their future career direction, and to develop the knowledge and professional networks that will be of benefit to them in their future leadership roles in government, business or the community.

Program places are limited to students with a strong academic record who are considered future leaders in government, business or the community.

The ANU North American Liaison Office and American Australian Association (NY) provide financial and in-kind assistance to help interns with travel and accommodation expenses.  ANU Crawford School of Public Policy provides full fee sponsorship for the requisite academic course and in-kind administration.
